The 2017 Programme
For its 35th edition, from September 1st to October 1st, the September music festival of Orne launches the Orne's cultural season by programming an equestrian show at Le Pin national Stud and sixteen concerts through the department.
Back at Le Pin national Stud, the festival will put the spotlight on the horse. The Centaure's Theater will make its return in the Orne with its show La 7e vague in the indoor area, recently restored by the Department.
An immersion in the English court of Queen Mary Stuart II and her composer Henry Purcell with BarokOpera Amsterdam, an Irish trip with the Musicians of Saint-Julien, a return to Lutheran Germany with the Rhenane Chapel, a detour in The Scandinavian fjords with the choirs of the Conservatory of Rouen and a tribute to Poland with the Sinfonietta Cracovia will make this edition a trip to the four corners of Europe.
Young talents will be present this year. We will discover Tjasha Gafner, young harpist winner of the contest Martine Géliot, as well as Léa Desandre, lyrical revelation at the last Victoires of classical music.
Between lyrical and musical performance, the festival will explore new horizons: D.I.V.A. will restyle six operas in ten minutes each, Thomas Enhco on piano and Vassilena Serafimova at marimba will propose a bold duet, and to conclude, the trumpet player Geoffroy Tamisier and his sextet will lead us to jazzy-flamenco rhythms on a Franco-Andalusian border.
